The test of a first-rate intelligence is the ability to hold two opposed ideas in the mind at the same time, and still retain the ability to function.
—F. Scott Fitzgerald
Including a year spent abroad in Paris and a major in Art History with a 20th Century emphasis, Leigh cultivated an interest in visual culture. She then progressed professionally from high-end art framing and conservation consulting (including digital arts management) to arts administration for The Willem de Kooning Foundation. With an archivist’s care for detail and rigor, she plays an important role with industry research and knowledge management – ensuring the flow and efficiency of Wert&Co.’s search strategy and methodologies.
Leigh enjoys being part of a team of independent-minded collaborators who are conceptual and passionate about their work. Her inherent curiosity in others (with humor, insight and wit), complements a personal approach to recruitment; and her professional interests in arts, culture, design, social impact, and sustainability fully align with Wert&Co.’s creative community.
Originally from Ohio and raised in the splendor of northern New Mexico, Leigh has called New York City home since attending Barnard College. She is an enthusiastic reader of The New Yorker and keeps current with art world news. Leigh has a hard time passing up a good flea market find… and can whip up a mean meal out of her fridge contents on any given day, often with the help of Mark Bittman or Epicurious.
