Italians have style, no matter their age. But aids for the elderly often don’t show any consideration of design sense. Italian-Singaporean designers Lanzavecchia + Wai recognized this, and thus created a series of well-designed walkers, canes, chairs, and a magnifying lamp to integrate into domestic homes with style. Cheekily-named No Country for Old Men, the walking canes recognize modern needs – with a tray for tea, a basket for reading materials, and an iPad stand. The chair is a modern design of wood, with metal arm rests and a foot bar that allow sitters to use their body weight to tip it forward, helping them to stand.
