Government Buildings, Redefined.

Most city halls convey the long, bureaucratic processes that happen within, with drab architecture and bad lighting. The Flemish Government Architecture Agency wanted to combat exactly this impression, with a competition to design their new city hall in Bruges. Carlos Arroyo responded to the challenge of “what a city hall can be, rather than making assumptions on what it is supposed to be,” with a¬†delightful, open, and engaging new building, opened last month.
