Responsive Architecture

Conceptual architect and engineer Michael Jantzen creates futuristic structures that challenge conventional ideas of the built environment, and our interactions with it. A champion of sustainability, Jantzen’s buildings are also created to be mostly self-sustaining, ‘breathing’ in and out their own energy. His wind pavilion concept (shown) is made up of stacks responding to the push and pull of the wind, shaping and moving the building and providing it with energy from the movement.
