Float and Read

A new library in Maranello, Italy gives the illusion that it floats effortlessly on a still pool of water. Italian architects Andrea Maffei worked with Japanese architect Arata Isozaki to design the serene, glass-walled space with a minimal white interior and greenery for local residents to take refuge in books. The curved walls are surrounded by a very shallow layer of water over rock, making it look as though it floats.
