Marbling Effect

Our ears have been tuned to all things aural since our theme week, but this musicology library caught our eye for its impressive architectural detail. The Folkwang University of the Arts Library in Germany houses a collection of the music archives of three separate institutions, all behind a facade of huge prints of translucent white marble behind glass panels. Swiss architect Max Dudler worked with photographer Stefan Müller to develop the facade, who’s marble images were taken in a nearby quarry.
