Art Escapes

Some terrific art installations are providing the ideal, interactive escapes right now, immersing viewers in light, color and surreal experiences. At London’s Hayward Gallery, “Light Show” literally warms visitors, with Carlos Cruz-Diez’s “Chromosaturation” neon-filled rooms and geometric shapes and Leo Villareal’s glittering blue LED installation “Cylinder 2.” International art group Squidsoup’s “Submergence,” invites visitors to wander through rooms of 8,000 strings of LED lights at Galleri ROM in Oslo. And Jeongmoon Choi strings fluorescent tubing in series of straight lines across walls, floors and ceilings of rooms, creating disorienting yet soothing geometric experiences for visitors.
